# Eldraeic Words of the Day

**grangár:** to consume, to ingest, (alternative) to eat

**glágrang:** intemperate consumption, gluttony

**alathglágrang:** (“knowledge-gluttony”) intemperate absorption of knowledge; essentially, the tendency to disappear into the library and not be seen until days later, passed out on a heap of books, having succumbed to the irresistible temptation of so much knowledge collected in one place.

**alathglágrandár:** one who indulges in, or is prone to indulge in, an _alathglágrang_. In theory, a pejorative term; in practice, no-one acculturated to Imperial norms will think too badly of an _alathglágrandár_ in general, only inasmuch as doing so can on occasion be a damned inconvenience.

**súnashír:** (from _súnar_ “brilliant, shining” + _sashír_ “glamor”) awesome

**andrakith:** (from _andra_ “fire” + _ankithel_ “emotion, passion”) inspired; possessed by inspiration

**trasúnashír anandrakithef:** the state or quality of inspiring others with the aura of one’s personal reputation, deeds, _qalasír_, etc.; inf. “awesomeness”

**argylayékith:** (from _argyr_ “merit” + _layés_ “longing” + _ankithel_ “emotion, passion”) a manner of carrying oneself such that other people wish to be more like one; inf. “coolness”

**dísgalith:** (from _dísil_ “difficulty, challenge to be overcome” + _galith_ “challenger; to attempt”) daring

**traqanédaëljír dísgalithef:** (from _qané_ “a little” + _daëlin_ “probability” + _jír_ “choice” and _dísgalith_ “daring”) willingness to attempt deeds that few would consider; inf. “radicalness”

Trust an agglutinative conlang designed for logic to make a long word to mean “awesomeness” or “inspiring reputation” 🤣

Of course, that’s one very specific subtype of awesomeness. For the more general English equivalent of the original word, you just want _súnashíref_.
