On the general topic broached over [here](https://eldraeverse.discourse.group/t/worldbuilding-immigration-and-religiosity/1928/4) and [here](https://eldraeverse.discourse.group/t/worldbuilding-immigration-and-religiosity/1928/8), and seeing that it’s Easter and as such the aforementioned passage (Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son Isaac) is being read and reviewed across the world…

…well, let’s just say that in the eldraeic religious tradition, such a test would be at best a test of your ability to recognize an unethical commandment and _disobey_.

(More likely, it’s time to declare this an unworthy god, and if He cares to make something of it, start a war upon the Throne.)

If I recall correctly, at least in/among some subsets of Judaism, it is viewed as the former. Moreover (and, granted, I may be misremembering or misinterpreting some or all of this), given that thereafter God did not communicate further with Abraham, it is one that he _failed._ On the other hand, I may not be recalling correctly the discussion in question, which was some months ago.
