A gruesome hash. It lacks the austerity and purity of a good low-level language, and the expressiveness, coherence, and elegance of a good high-level language. It’s bloated, obfuscated, incoherent, brittle, ugly, and contagious - in the sense that any code written it takes on these qualities. C++ Considered Harmful.

By comparison… well, COBOL may be weak, verbose, and unnecessarily mickey-mouse, but at least it appears to have some design to it.
