**_[Shoulder Cannon](http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ShoulderCannon?ref=eldraeverse.com):_** On most Imperial combat exoskeleton designs, this is where they fit the semi-autonomous point-defense weapons. (Also, on whichever shoulder suits you, the brackets where you prop/clamp the rear end of the Really Big Guns.) _[Backpack Cannons](http://eldraeverse.com/2012/03/02/trope-a-day-backpack-cannon/)_ are usually more common (although still rare) for offensive weapons, since they tend to need less of a good view.

I am rather fond of the Schlock Mercenary power-armor pauldrones (spelling intentional): 2 autotargeting BFGs that normally sit on your shoulders. Until you fully release them into _floating combat drones each with a single BFG to shoot with_.

I was inspired to note the use of pauldrons on the N45 Garrex as hardpoints for drones or other weapons systems.

But on the M-70 Havoc or comparable heavy exoskeletons, the drones you might want to bring along are a little, ‘hem, _big_ to perch comfortably on you…
