I believe we may be seeing the first live examples of a problem mentioned in the 'verse - much like the problem with law enforcement AIs not knowing which laws we quietly let drop and/or selectively enforce over time because we never bothered to write that stuff down, there’s a parallel problem with people teaching AIs religion only for them to lack the understanding that people have more or less mentally edited out the awkward bits from the holy texts over the years, and learned never to say the quiet part out loud…
At least it’s manageable when it’s just chatbots handing out advice based on that Old-Time Religion, but one day the Artificial Angel for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice will be here, and it subscribes to a literally literal intepretation of the word of god.
