Video of some impressive light bulbs filled with glowing flowers.
Oh, those are gorgeous. It’s a real shame they stopped making them.

It’s winter here, and we’ve had some large storms this year. The sort that bring down large trees.
In my city, a loosely organised group of ‘chainsaw volunteers’ has emerged in response. See, most people living in the city have no need for a chainsaw, and so don’t own tools suitable for cleaning up large branches.[1] And the dedicated SES volunteers obviously focus on the big problems first, like damaged rooves. So a group who could be described as ‘bored dads’ has formed on local community pages, who help organise a couple of chainsaw-owning people to come around and chop the fallen wood into manageable-sized chunks.
Homeowner doesn’t have to purchase or hire a tool they’ll only use every few years, volunteers get to have fun using a chainsaw. Everyone benefits.
These are gumtrees; a large branch can be as thick as my waist. This is not regular pruning tool territory. ↩︎
