On the general topic broached over here and here, and seeing that it’s Easter and as such the aforementioned passage (Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son Isaac) is being read and reviewed across the world…

…well, let’s just say that in the eldraeic religious tradition, such a test would be at best a test of your ability to recognize an unethical commandment and disobey.

(More likely, it’s time to declare this an unworthy god, and if He cares to make something of it, start a war upon the Throne.)

If I recall correctly, at least in/among some subsets of Judaism, it is viewed as the former. Moreover (and, granted, I may be misremembering or misinterpreting some or all of this), given that thereafter God did not communicate further with Abraham, it is one that he failed. On the other hand, I may not be recalling correctly the discussion in question, which was some months ago.
