Reddit randomly threw this up in the random home stuff this morning, which covers a lot of the problematic territory with having all the stuff about your stuff in a chatbox, with specific reference to the way it induces repetitiveness and causes information-loss, which aren’t the psychological reasons I dislike it, but which are a couple of the rational reasons I do.

This is just a search problem. The native Discord search is bad but if you ignore the TOS slightly and implement your own it should be perfectly practical to find things.
