A side-effect of the process, now I have passed the January 2020 point at which Discourse comments were introduced, by which I re-tag posts and migrate old (non-Discourse) comments over is that the posts which have old WordPress comments on them will show up here as freshly commented upon, as I post the one comment which contains all the old comments.
There’s not really a good way around this, so I’ll be going slowly so as not to flood the place. Hopefully, we can just look at it as a chance to revisit the past’s greatest hits.
Did we lose some information about quotes or who replied to whom in the process of the migration? The comments on As We Wax Hot In Faction seem a bit off
Yeah, those ones are just in chronological order because, well I’m still figuring out how to deal with all the WordPress export XML. I think I’m going to need to write a tool to turn chunks of the export into formatted threads with dependencies - if there’s even a clean way to do that.
